Hello everyone, it has been awhile since I have posted on here but I recently decided to change out my rack and pinion on the 2nd gen since the boots/inner tie rods were beginning to fail. I decided to replace the stock rubber bushings with a set of energy suspension bushings (part #8.10106G) while I had the new rack outside of the truck.

I managed to get the old bushings out and press the new ES ones in by hand. I ended up using some Lucas Extra Heavy Duty grease before inserting the new bushings. After installing the new rack in the truck, I attempted to torque the (2) bolts that hold the rack to the sub frame to the 68 ft/lb spec as listed in the manual. While torquing the passenger side down, it appears as if the upper bushing is "crowning" around the metal washer as shown below.

Can someone confirm if this is correct? Or am I now dealing with a deformed/defective bushing?

Update: Just spoke with an energy suspension rep to find that these bushings are counterfeit. Although the part numbers on Amazon match Energy Suspension's website, the composition of the polyurethane is vastly different. Energy Suspensions is not a certified vendor on Amazon or eBay, so the issue I'm experiencing falls back on poor craftsmanship from a knockoff vendor. I hope others take note of my mistake and go through Summit, Wheelers, or even Autozone for the real deal.
