3rd Gen key fob start not working

I have a 2020 TRD-off road and I tried to use the key fob start doing the lock and unlock method but it just keeps beeping and I have tried holding it down and everything. If anyone has another idea please.

it should have a regular key in to unlock the driver's door, and you can hold the fob up to the start button to start still. You more than likely need to replace the battery, did you get a warning on the dash?

The timing can be very finicky. Try watching some videos to get it down. Only the lock button is used. There’s a sequence that uses both lock and unlock button to shut off the fob. Could you have maybe confused those two?
Rather than trying to time it perfectly, I just just press lock as fast as I can the lock button until I hear the truck beep at least three times and then hold it. It usually beeps 5 or 6 times when I’m tired on cold mornings. I’m sure my neighbors love it.
Also that feature has to be activated through software somehow I believe. Like the Toyota or entune app maybe? I bought mine used with an aftermarket auto start installed, that can also be used with the oem fob, so I may not be the greatest source of info.

@Chew I think they mean the auto start but I could be wrong

 

Thanks guys yea I look up some video's a bit ago and on this form and I have tried with the unlock and lock but I will try also doing just lock.

 

ahh gotcha, I think you’re right. Probably a language barrier here, now that I reread them, looks like it could be a post made by translator app.

 

Same truck and mine doesn't work either.

 

I have a 2019, but I read somewhere along the lines of 2020 or 2021 the tech changed and folks were having issues with the mobile device added to allow remote start with their mobile devices,,, something about removing the app, rendered the remote fob's ability to start the truck. I am not 100% sure on that, but maybe it gives you guys something to search for to find the fix.
