so i was getting a EGR valve code, PO402,...i cleaned the egr and fixed that 2 days ago and right after that was cleaned i am now getting a PO441 and a PO442 codes. I checked the gas cap and the gasket has minor cracks in it when bent in different ways but has been like that for years but i guess ill get a new one. all the lines from the charcoal cannister and gas tank are connected and nothing is ripped from my
inspections. do these codes have any relation to the EGR code/fixed??? or could it just be a gas cap issue?
can i get any gas cap or does it have to be one from toyota?
    thanks guys

Just cleaning the egr rarely fixes the problem for long. Replace it. Also, make sure the vsv's and vaccuum lines are working and intact.
The evap system is limited in usefullness by a $12 gas cap and rubber lines. Replace the gas cap and inspect the lines for the evap system for cracks and dryrot. Check the evap vsv's for proper operation too.

Warranty on evap system is 14yrs/140k ish

checking VSV's are new to me so i may need some instructions and locations. i have looked at all the lines i could find and no cracks seem to be there but the truck is a 2001 but i have never messed with any of them. i NEVER had these codes (441 & 442) and they came about right after the EGR valve was fixed/code went away so im hoping it was something easy like the gas cap since i filled up right after fixing the EGR earlier this week. thanks for the quick response

if the evap warranty is what you say it is, i may have to call toyota tomorrow to get this fixed

Probably something you disturbed while working on the egr. Go back and thouroughly check where you were working.

yeah i figured it had to be something i disturbed because i was all over the engine bay fixing that damn valve...i made a quick pass over everything, took the gas cap off and back on, pulled the fuse to reset the CEL and tested all vacuum line connections i could fine and snugged them up. if it comes on again ill further investigate....i was just wondering the connection, if any, between the EGR code, 402, and the codes 441 and 442 that i got today
