This stuff is all new to me as a first time Tacoma owner. This is my 3rd vehicle based on a variant of Toyota’s 3.5 V6, and the transmission shifting is worst I’ve seen. Does fine on flat ground, but mix in mountains, hills, and towing, and the transmission leaves a lot to be desired. But, sounds like a tune can fix all that, which is great news to me.

So what are the going rates for the various tune options in the PNW region? If I’m understanding this tuning world, individual tuners charge whatever they like, so prices vary quite a bit?

@chargedmr2 - Welcome to TW and congrats on your '23! I felt that same pain when I picked up my '16 with about 30k logged in 2018. I really wanted to love it but the shifts and throttle were just not a good fit for me. As soon as tuning was an option in the early days of OVTune I jumped right in and now after almost 3-years I have offered tuning to over (600) Tacoma owners.....they all benefit an the tunes continue to evolve whenever we can get improvements out of the platform!

Short of a KDMAX Pro resource you can connect with wherever you are, I offer backup options for remote tuning. This is great for someone who is not near a resource or can never coordinate a schedule time after time. I offer loaner cables or you can purchase your very own from me and get your licensed setup. You just need a Windows laptop (7 or higher). If you are not comfortable with a computer I can send a loaner for that also for a small fee. All this is bundled with our latest tune release, full support, $0-75 future upgrades depended on the release and timing of when you were tuned. It also includes any support you need over phone/email/remote screen sharing where I can perform all the software installation and setup for any owner....all included. The remote options start at $500 for Tacomas and go up based on purchase/loaner options needed.

If you are a customer on a competitive tune, or have VFTuner already we even have "Tune Pack" options with more affordable pricing since your truck should already be properly VIN unlocked and you just want to upgrade to the best tune our competition loves to hate.

I am happy to answer any questions I can here, PM or give me a call. Chris #757-320-2628
