Find something big enough to fill the ID of the hole put a hose clamp on.

Not much more simpler then that.

You're not speaking of the radiator expansion tank are you?

So what's a water catch can?

Parts in sequence: air filter box, resonator and then this black ugly box that is supposed to catch any water that gets in the intake tube before it gets to throttle body. I know i can plug the hole that the resonator plugs into, but would need a pipe of some sort to do away with water catch can that is attached to the intake pipe. I was hoping someone sells a rubber tube to go from airbox straight to throttle body and has a vacuum barb to hook to the fuel pressure regulator valve.

Simple to make your own pvc pipe 2 fernco couplers drill a hole glue in your barb fitting.

So the "water catch can" is in fact the airbox... ok.

Good news- companies that sell cold air intakes already make this product- it's even got a new cone filter as well!

In all seriousness, if you're dead set on keeping the stock parts while removing the water trap and resonator, you'll need to do something custom.

I removed the J-shaped water trap and resonator way back in the day with whatever parts I could plug the intake holes with- stupid youth move for zero gain. More recently, I was able to machine down some 2" delrin/nylon and made some really nice fittings. But overall, unless you have a really good reason to do so, just leave them in place.
