Tragedy struck

Tragedy struck the house this morning as I was loosely slinging my cup from the sink area to the coffee pouring counter and it clipped the stone countertop. The cracking of the cup was haunting and large pieces scattered onto the tile floor.

The Cup is survived by a blend of Haitian Blue and Peruvian beans.

The Cup had a good life and was used daily like its predecessor, faithfully housing favorite blends at perfect temps and will be missed but not forgotten.

Services will be held this Tuesday at 3:00 pm for the deceased cup.

That's a clean break.

My wife had a coffee cup that suffered the same fate several years ago.

She has since switched to a different cup but I insist on using plastic mats on the granite counter tops because I fear the same fate for future cups.

Our new kitchen and wood floors during remodel.

We recently bought the mats at IKEA a couple weeks back...we utilize them from here on out.

 

My wife's the big coffee drinker here; never lost a mug (knock on wood)



Placemats help to protect the mugs and granite tops since I'm the only one that uses coasters

 

Your have to pretreat your mugs. Makes them strong.

 

That Kamado Joe is sweet.... I like Royal Oak for my setup.
If you haven't already, a whole turkey cooks very much like a whole chicken - and tastes divine.
