Replacing brake pads-new hardware?

I'm getting ready to replace the front brake pads and have my rotors turned on my 2015 prerunner. I already have the oem pads (

$64 04465-AZ200 Toyota Genuine Parts - Fr Brake Pad (04465-AZ200)

04465-AZ200), that I'm almost positive are the correct ones. Please let me know otherwise. Anyway, I noticed the pads do not come with any fresh hardware, clips, pins, ect. I've looked around for an answer and noticed people say to re-use the shims but what about the clips, springs, and pins?

 

Sometimes I reuse stuff and other times I install new parts. It depends on the condition of the parts. I did front brakes on my truck months ago. I needed new front calipers so I replaced everything, (shims, pins, clips, and W-springs).

 

Unless you are in the rust belt the hardware should be ok to use again. Some of those hardware kits sold in stores are garbage.

In case I end up having to replace hardware will aftermarket work with oem pads? It's so much trouble finding this stuff oem unless someone has the part numbers.

 

OEM hardware is best with OEM pads. Your dealership should be able to match them up.

 

just reuse them.

what i do for the pins.....just clean them with a wire brush. spray brake clean. apply break grease...send it.
also will hit the caliper and the brake rotor hat with the same wheel.

all the other clips should be fine to reuse for a long time.

 

Just clean the pins and the channel shims (the stainless steel liners the pads rest in), and install the new pads. I've replaced the hardware in the past but often, the OEM units I removed were heavier/thicker than the replacement parts. I have some small, toothbrush sized wire brushes I use for those channel liners.
They should clean up ok, especially on a California truck.
