I was lucky enough not to have to work.Chicago.

Plenty of rain in Ohio today but nothing like up there.
In Chicago, the City Parks require a 90 minute delay for lightning so that is why the Xfinity Race was delayed and why they couldn't finish it Sun. Alot of the venue up there fell under the City Parks jurisdiction.
NASCAR, and most others, only require a 30 min stop for lightning with in 8 miles. (some use 10 miles). Chicago was more restrictive.
Truck race was a comedy of errors when it started. The track was a mess.

IMG_6629.jpg I didn’t get to watch any racing today. Got a bunch of chores done and headed out to the local dirt track.

Double edge sword. I’ve never been to a NASCAR race because the nearest track is Las Vegas 1100 miles away. Wish if we are going to have street races they would bring them to the PNW. Local track got sold a couple years ago to some really bad ass owners that the fans and race teams first. 20 years ago we had 30-40 410’s coming from all over every weekend. Track sold to a fucken greedy moron who let it fall to shit. People got sick of leading races and wrecking in holes in the track. 410’s left, 360 locals tried to rough it out and started dwindling too because the money wasn’t there. New owners paid $1k to any 410 drivers that started the A main last year to get some teams built and we got up to 11. The big event is Dirt Cup in June. It pays $62k for 1st and $1k a lap lead. Winner this year won from the pole and pocketed $82k. Fans love it, teams love it and the track is full of fans again and we are pulling teams from Canada, Australia, California, Idaho, Montana and the Midwest. Last nights 360 winner came from Indiana and is starting for a month. Track owner said from the beginning he wants the biggest purses on the West Coast. It’s really awesome to see it coming together. Kasey Kane and Tony Stewart used to come back in the day. Won’t be long and we will be pulling from the top tier again. Outlaws come Labor Day weekend. Won’t be long and we will have B mains and A mains in 360 and 410’s again every weekend.

Missed out on last week's race...partly intentionally. Probably going to miss this one too because 4am comes way too soon. That, and I don't like the superspeedway package, especially here.
