Sounds great, hits lower notes than the L7 for sure, I didn’t even change any amp settings yet. The l7 just always sounded like there was a hollow thud behind the rear seat at low volumes(higher volumes were fine). The Jl is just much more natural sounding and it seems to blend with the rest of the stereo much more clean.

Used bed liner. It's tougher and more durable. I did it expecting to have to touch it up every once in awhile. Don't like the red and silver on a white and black truck.

    Not for the first time.....

It's one round trip to town below 100,000 km, including four winters in the BC mountains and four summers taking logging roads to the cabin.
    It's hanging in there.

(The water looks streaky because I dry it with a leaf blower....which also works slick to get leaves off of the cabin air intakes)

Home Depot run— loved that I kept the rake after lifting, sat almost level with the 360lbs of concrete in the bed :D

    IMG_9057.jpg

Also found an old pic of my 2nd gen— different locations at Cleghorn but thought it was a cool 6 year comparison! Was going downhill on the Prerunner and didn’t bother to try the harder trails. The ruts are worse this time around but the new Taco handled it like cake.

Update: It only took about 4 hrs running the heat gun around it (and in the plug holes) on low to get all the moisture out. Even 1 drop left inside will fog it all up. Thought about using the oven but too chicken to start tossing lights in.

you did it right, I spray painted my skid plate black years ago and it’s held up well. Don’t let the haters get you down.

Why crawl under your truck every year and spray mavcoat? (Or any other form of rust prevention like FF or Crown or Eastwood?).

I had 2 first gen tacos that had new frames. My son had a 97 that didn't qualify for a frame replacement. This is what happened. Passengers side shock mount rot.

    20200422_071937.jpg
    20200422_071949.jpg

This was able to be fixed with a couple of safety cap parts and someone who would weld it without the liability of it failing again, but who wants to go through this hassle of pulling beds and grinding rust and just chasing issues...

No pics of that with the bed pulled off, but the rear on my 02 was so rotted the pumpkin just leaked in random spots.. I had to JB weld the thing just to squeeze a few more years out of it. I hated it, new frame and everything else was rusted to bits.

Moral of the story.... Take care of your undercarriage if you plan on keeping your truck for more than 3-5 years. It's worth it. I would still be driving my 1st gen if I would have known then what I know now .

Ordered Toyota OEM rubber wiper insert to replace my blades, I got 50k miles on them. Just ordered my 3rd insert, got the wrong one first time for drivers side, and noticed if ordered for pickup at dealer I pay no shipping, and there appears to be a current promotion for 20% off, does that apply to all parts? I don't know but thought I would pass this info along.

    Cheers.

I notice the 3 different PNs for the refill, which 2 did you order? I’m assuming it’s the 85214A and B. As an aircraft mechanic I’m usually good at looking at parts break downs like this but the parts listed below have the numbers after the dash that make it a little confusing for me as they aren’t listed in the illustration.

First 2 in your image are incorrect, last one is the Drivers side refill. If there is an E in the PN, you got the right ones for a pair.

Too bad they don't show you an actual image of the item you are ordering, just an artists rendition.
