bump to see if anyone else has done this

just randomly saw this thing on FB

while it looks shitty, it does appear to possibly have functionality in rain due to the tilt
aka still fan air, without letting water in

I wonder what people are doing to not ruin their roof entirely
aka still have usable space without a vent in the way
like a solar panel on there, roof rack to carry things, etc. and not some giant thing in the center protruding far rendering the entire large working surface unusable

another idea I've heard is a panel made for the side window, with fan(s)
but side windows are angled and if left open, water would just rain in

looks like this thing has some sort of accordion cab sealing boot too

Personally, I'd go with the MaxxFan deluxe. The old style can still get water inside when raining. The lid on the deluxe extends past the opening, covers the sides, and has a grill over the inlet that helps prevent rain from splashing in.
I thought about doing it to mine, but I have a full platform. I have to measure to see if I can fit one under it have space to open the vent.
