You aren’t wrong. They are built cheap, after owning one for over a year I hear quite a few rattles and creeks. However, you get that with every car. Even Toyotas/Lexus. Tesla isn’t a luxury brand, they were just the first to do it (hence the premium price when they were introduced). Supply and demand, now you can pick up a base model 3 for ~30K, under 30K if you consider the EV tax credit.

I got one because it’s just an easier car to drive everyday over my 4Runner (instant throttle response), I charge at work, and there is almost zero maintenance outside of normal brakes and tires.

He’s helped engineer a few things. For Tesla and Space x. Not just bankroll the companies.
link? Source? All that? His staff had commented on the fact over the years.
Tom Mueller, Kevin Watson, Garret Reisman, Robert Zubrin and a ton more.

US taxpayers really paid for Musk's success. Hey, he worked the system. Used taxpayer money to make him rich essentially.

Looks outstanding. And for that reason I am betting Toyota made it look nothing like this.

These folks want to keep their jobs. Space X and Tesla had good things going prior to Elon and are happy to use Elon as a motivator and lead eccentric.... Twitter didn't have that built in firewall ready. Elon is an Ideas guy, not really an implementer.

All engineers/developers eventually and usually transition in to an 'Ideas guy' further down their career paths.

You have no idea who those people are that I mentioned then. They are top of their industry. Propulsion experts, astronauts….their names will be hired anywhere by anyone…

…I see biases seem to get in the way. Once some of you don’t like a guy, there’s nothing anyone will say or do to convince you of what you don't want to hear…

Good thing I am not into luxury. More of a hose it out kinda user, can’t really do that anymore though. Sorta can do that with the Bronco, awfully nice of them to put plugs in the floorboards.

Yeah, could see paying $30K for one, at a $100K makes absolutely no sense.

Not much of a car person, don’t like sitting that low, don’t need instant throttle response either for plunking along in the ranch roads I drive.

Am liking the RAV4 loner we have currently, not too low, not too high, pretty zippy for running around. My wife may not want to give it back when my 1G is done at the shop.

I would like to know why you think I have some bias against an Ideas guy/Motivator? You assumed negativity on your own accord. You have also made assumptions about me and my knowledge of an industry...

Love the clean lines on this....Looks like a grown up 4Runner without losing the ruggedness.

Because you without hesitation assumed that a dude was going have astronauts and a host of other world class trades fired because they didn’t say things that supported your misconception…

Usually dudes who talk out of their ass about other people do it with a bias.

    Obviously me neither! :p

I tried reading stuff on the Rivian forum, about as exciting as watching paint dry. Though the paint girl at Lowe’s is kinda hot…
