And the number of uninsured drivers has been estimated at a similar percentage. Scary.

This seems like a more credible resource showing some lower estimates, but still too high and high enough I'll be keeping my UM coverage active!

Yeah that only goes through 2019, no doubt it's sky-rocketed now.

I'd expect to pay between $2k and 3k for gears plus install.
That seems to be the general rule of thumb after install, labor, taxes ect, ect.

They reimbursed me after leaving negative feedback on Amazon. They were suck on there pretty damn good - had to use a hairdryer + a thin guitar pick to separate the sticky backing from the vents.

Since I didn't have to return them, I took them off and painted them with several layers of satin black paint then reinstalled them (Mine came with extra adhesive strips). They look great now and shouldn't fade.

Here's how mine looked after taking them out.

Yes your mileage may vary. My Truck is parked outside and it gets hot here in CA. The center ones were still black because I use a sunshade but the ones near the doors were completely discolored. Mine were also relatively cheap - the seller on Amazon was JDMCAR

I really want to do this one, especially with the $36 price on Amazon, but I am deathly afraid of breaking tabs pulling the mirror caps off.

Don’t live life ruled by fear :) it’s an easy job, you can do it!

it does take more force than I thought. I have the Amazon specials and they’ve held up fine

I'm in the "I don't want to break it" boat when it comes to any mods. But the mirror covers are not that bad at all. There are several YT DIY videos you can follow. It can sound like you're going to break something, but the cover tabs are very strong. That said, I did snap one of the little clips that holds the wiring in place on one side. IIRC I moved the wires in the wrong direction. It didn't make any difference, everything's still in place, but that's the only place where you'd need to be gentle IMO. Go for it, they look great!

I've pulled my mirror caps off several times. Never had an issue breaking anything

I pulled my tail lights twice. Once to do the Meso Total Tail Stage 1, and again a year later when I decided to replace the tail lights altogether and go with the Form Lighting tail lights. Both times the "holder" for the lower post came off on both sides. The first time I just pulled them off the post on the tail lights and pushed them back into place. The second time the one on the left tail cracked and I had to run to the dealership and get a new one, which fortunately they had in stock (the counter guy said they break all the time). This is where my paranoia comes from LOL. The mirror caps wouldn't be as easy to replace.

I received my RCI roof rack over the weekend and installed it immediately, haha. I'm so stoked on how it turned out. Having my awning back will definitely come in handy for my upcoming trip to the beach. Cheers! 20230708_190131.jpg 20230710_130244.jpg 20230710_130217.jpg

Yep, I get it. I replaced mine in the garage when it was a tad chilly and it went fine. Now if you let it sit outside in the summer sun for a bit things should be pretty pliable. Watch the DIY vids and you'll be good. Easy mod.

1st watch a video about taking apart the mirror housing. You could squirt a bit of dish soap where the catch tabs are to make it easier to separate. Also, do this when the plastic is warm. It will flex better.

You can also slam your mirror into a tree, it will also separate.

I don't recommend this method though.

I took the flatbed out for its first rip in the Sierras! This is the first prototype that I have built and I am hoping to build more. I will toss on a build thread shortly with many more details but for now I have set up a splash page with a questionnaire in order to gauge interest of the TW community and what they would want! After all, I am a man of the people! Website: https://bigbodytruckco.com/
