Funny how they seem to always fail when you really would love to see that time period on that camera.:anonymous:

I drive a forklift and I must say that I'm highly offended by this because it's 100% accurate.

    Funny you mentioned that...

The shipping dock had a camera -- oddly enough "vibrations from passing trucks" (the 3 that went back there a week) seemed to make the camera move repeatedly.

Alternatively, right in front of the camera was the "only" place they could park that double height skid...

Funny, I taught dozens of people to drive forklift - taught the class & gave the tests.

:gossip: ...but when I started there I just got on and drove away, they never gave me a test...

I remember when I started my job many years ago, I was trained by the Bus Operator (AKA Bus driver) to learn how to drive the bus on city streets. I was only allowed to have hands on one round trip on a bus route and I was told "that's enough for you since you work in the Maintenance department". I couldn't complaint, I needed the employment.:censored:

Beats getting called to gas leaks after 1am several times in a night and finding out it's just a skunk each time.

And the time some city slicker customer who moved to the country called in a gas leak and swore their dog had to have been around it because it stunk horribly........................ Ahhh, Ann Arborites, how we laugh at thee and their brains full of mush.

The chemical added to Natural Gas or propane smells nothing like a skunk !

I could understand if They never smelled a Skunk up close being city people thinking it was gas .:anonymous:

That is really funny I hope they were billed.

Very rarely do people admit what they did. There's been a couple times where they were like "yea, I totally busted that"

This week got a call for a computer station where the monitor was off. The plastic screen that covers it is tight to the on/off button. I walked up and the manager that called me was standing there. I slapped the right bottom corner of the plastic and the monitor turned on. Told the guy "stop hitting the screen when your load numbers are shit" and I just walked off

I've done my fair share of stupid stuff too. Took out a support post and bent it at a 45° angle with the fork lift. The other day I didn't check the voltage on a motor brake I installed. Was supposed to be 480v, but I didn't see it was a 120V unit I installed. Even wired up the same. Worked darn good for a good 20 seconds before I saw a smoke show... :anonymous:

The best one by far was a place over on Satan`s island.

Right under Outerbridge Crossing The place had 2 separate buildings one older one newer .

One was wired for 240 VAC the other for 480VAC no one either knew or forgot .

Moved from one shop to the other.

At least the Machines were linked for 480VAC . It just had to be the machines were not repaired correct.:anonymous:

There again A long Drive for a few meter readings:annoyed::annoyed::spending:

I got the service calls were the customer said the machine was still broke. Bent out of shape they were not going to pay the bill . They paid quite dear for that mishap.

The driving portion of my forklift qualification, guy had me move 3-4 trash bags on a pallet and take to the dumpster. I lost one bag on the way...still passed.
Today is my 12th and final day off from work. Little stay cation, got quite a bit done.
I hope that I can get myself out of bed at 4 AM :anonymous:
My daughter got new tires on her Tacoma today.
I tried to use the smoke or semi-transparent plasti-dip but it wasn't dark enough so I went and got a can of black and glossifier. Didn't turn out too bad but the finish doesn't feel very durable. Just trim rings and center caps. She wanted all black look. 20230710_183018.jpg
