I acquired my first Tacoma recently under somewhat sad circumstances. I've owned 2 Nissan Frontiers, but in my area the Toyota dealers would never deal on the Tacoma's. It was a take it or leave it. One of my best friends Loved Toyota's, especially the 4 cylinder engines. He had a couple clean Celica's. Unfortunately, his health failed fast and he passed away this last April. I was surprised to get a phone call from his wife a couple weeks ago saying he wanted me to have his 2012 Tacoma. I needed a truck, so I wanted to give her KBB private sales price on it even though she was insisting on nothing. We compromised on dealer wholesale. He had a Detroit axle complete brake package in the extended cab area. I never used that brand, but I got the back one's on. ""I hate drum brakes"". Still have to do the front. We live in the Pa. mountains, and the 2.7 gets up the big one's but it works at it. So far the only issue is a P0705 code causing the check engine light to come on. Seems to happen when driving in wet conditions. I read about the water intrusion issue with a connector on the drivers side. I will address that, but I'm leaning toward neutral switch because I can clear the code with my Autel scanner. That sounds more of a temporary signal than water intrusion ? We shall see. Truck3.jpg

What a great friend. Sorry for your (and his family's) loss.....

Honorable of you to not accept the truck for free!

Nice looking truck/wheels. I'm sure you'll enjoy keeping it looking sharp in his memory.

Welcome :hattip:You've got a real gem there buddy  I've spoken to the person with whom I'm leaving my SR5 to when I'm gone. It's a family member who owns an 1980 something Toyota truck. I know he'll appreciate it and care for it as well as I have. I get the decision of your friend to leave it to you.
