Water in air switching valve

    Ok so changed everything still no change. Only thing new is I found the air switching valve was full of water. Now I'm gonna change the secondary air pump and the air switching valve if I can find it to see if that helps.if not looks like I'm gonna have to go to using a bypass kit.

    Hard start!! We ve changed cleaned and done alot of stuff none to help.

    Well the Secondary Air Injection System has nothing to do with the engine starting, it doesn't come into play until after the engine is running and even then it's only there for cold start emissions. It has no effect on driveability other than 12 and newer V6 trucks will go into limp mode for certain Air Injection System faults.

    Normally for a long crank the first thing I look at is fuel pressure, if it holds pressure with the engine off and how long it takes it to come up when cranking.

    Fuel pressure was good changed plugs, maf, injectors good and sensor on front of block forgot the name lol and I bought the crank position senor too. When it finally would crank it would idle real low. Probably like you said in limp mode. I gotta get this fixed son leaves back to college first week of August, and he's driving a chevy cavalier at the moment and he misses his truck lol a 6 foot 2, 250 boy hard fit in a cavalier.

    The SAIS will not cause the 4 cyl trucks to go into limp mode, that only happens on V6 trucks and they weren't equipped with it until 2012.
    What codes (if any) are you getting?
    Did this problem occur suddenly or dit it gradually get worse.
    What events (if any) led up to this problem?
    Does the truck always start eventually but has a long crank or does it not start at all at times?
    How long do you have to crank it before it starts?

    Nothing lead up to itreally son called from college and said he truck wasn't starting he said he noticed if the gas got below a fourth but he drove home from 4 hours away and made it. Only codesnwas the secondary air pump code. But everyone said that can't be it. So 2 mechanic later and new fuel pump and all the other stuff and still not right
    We're on on 3rd mechanic and first thing he found was the secondary pump was out and the air switching valve full of water. Now over 1000 dollars in we wait. We were sure it was the fuel pump but not and fuel pressurebwas spot on. I got my fingers crossed this fixes it.
