Using your e brake/parking brake? That would be my guess, what's locking drive train up

Your description is unclear to me, but my first guess is that your parking brake or rear drum brakes are locking up. It’s happened to me a couple times, but only when water is involved (up to the grill muddy water once and a power washer the other).

I have had to put it in 4lo and gently move forward and backwards until it freed up. Another time I gave the rear tire a solid kick and it freed up. YMMV.

In past years with other vehicles, I’ve also had the brakes freeze up in cold snowy conditions after driving the automobile and then letting it sit. Hot brakes melt snow, get wet, then cool off and freeze. I don’t remember this happening in recent years though.

I’m not fully understanding either. Probably parking brake, especially if you don’t have any warning lights. This seems common, especially with all the rain much of the country has been getting.

This has happened to me a handful of times over the years but only when snow / ice was involved in the winter.
