Hey everyone, I just bought a 2000 Tacoma as my very first vehicle and I absolutely love it! I recently took the bed off the truck to do some work with the frame and noticed the rear leaf springs are sagging and the rear shocks are completely rusted out and no longer functional. I am on a rather tight budget since I am saving for university but I've seen countless shocks and leaf springs on Facebook market place for 2nd and 3rd gens that are dirt cheap. I was just wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to make those parts fit. Cheers!

You can pickup a pair of shock absorbers at the local autoparts store for like $160 me thinks. I’m guessing the leaf springs are just fine. People often mistake flat leaf springs as being worn out. The fact is that they are flat from the factory, likely because that is optimal for the taco’s design. CAVEAT: I have no experience with 1st gens.

TBQH, when I was young and driving old cars, I never spent money on things that didn’t prevent the car from getting me to my destination. Shocks are optional equipment.
