Wanted to get some thoughts here - not ready to actually commit to a change yet or NEED to, but wanted to get the ball rolling on ideas so I can plan ahead.

Long story short, bought my 2015 Pre-Runner Access Cab 4cyl when I finished college and didn't think I needed or want the double cab..

Now I'm at the point of my life where I would like to have the extra space and comfort... and maybe future car seat?

What is the best strategy here? Trading/selling mine and re-buying another? I only have 88k miles on mine, so it's still young. I have no need for a long bed, so a DCSB is what I'm thinking. I think my ideal scenario would be to keep my SCS wheels and swap with someone else who also has a 2nd gen... lol.

    Appreciate some thoughts or ideas.

no person is going to trade their DCSB for a 2 door RWD 4cyl.

you can either sell then buy or trade in at a dealer.

It's up to you based on what you need for...

I traded my '07 Tacoma AC SR5 in for '17 Tacoma DCSB. I took my truck to work and the workers were surprised to see it and I gave them a ride to the lunch almost every day.. They like it.

I got mods on it about a year after that... I plan to go out that way to meet them and have them see what changed on my truck.

Selling it may be your best bet, but it's a crystal ball business and nobody knows the optimal answer.

New 4th gens come out end of the year - will that flood the market with everyone dumping old 2nd gens? Or will old 2nd gens be more desirable?

Either way you have a 2WD 4 cyl which isn't usually the most sough after configuration. True answer probably has more to do with your urgency of adding a baby seat. I'd wait it out if you aren't in a rush, wait for the tea leaves to fall from the 4th gen and then decide unless you find a smoking deal in the meantime.
