My Taco is base trim, so no backup camera. I bought an OEM replacement and bolted it right in beside the tailgate handle, and plugged it into the harness. I then tapped into the wires at the harness under the dash (per the linked video) but I can't get a picture on my head unit. The guides come on screen when I reverse so I have that part right, the picture is jut black.

I thought maybe my T-taps weren't doing the job, so I cut the wires going into the harness and spliced my RCA wire directly to the bare and red wires, but still nothing.

    Any suggestions?

I had to run the trigger wire on the back of the head unit to a trigger wire under the left kick panel. It is a red and white wire if I remember. Call Crutchfield.

Crutchfield was no help, I'm on my own. I have this harness running to the stereo compartment, and it looks like it has the same wires as the headliner harness to the mirror. I'm thinking I should be able to tap into these.

Can you post a link to the camera you are using? My OEM stopped working and the OEM price for the camera is a few hundred bucks.

My '15 is a base, I got an aftermarket camera from ebay ( not a dorman part) and everything was literally plug and play, but I was using a stock HU, then swapped in an Entune HU that also worked flawlessly.
