Is it weird that my SR5 came with TRD Pro wheels?

I purchased my 2023 SR5 on Monday. This is in South Georgia and they have a “XP Predator” upgrade package that was included in this truck. That package includes the blackout badges, XP badging, 265/70r16 Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires, Predator Pro Step Bar, black exhaust tip, and TRD Pro wheels. I love the wheels but it seems odd to me they would put TRD wheels on a non-TRD Tacoma. Kinda makes me feel like a poser although I love the look of the truck. What do you think?

Normal, they do it on trail edition and on Tundras with certain trims / packages

 

Don’t worry about trim levels. All Tacomas are the same, the trim is just lipstick.

Out-of-the-box your truck will out-wheel every other Tacoma trim, by virtue of having real off-road tires

I thought that they also threw in the TOYOTA grille with that appearance package.

 

The xp package is part of the southern region of Toyota sales (only available in the south part of the us) and the xp package is thru them so it’s sort of officially part of Toyota but yes the package is the pro grille and pro wheels same for the 4Runner and I guess some tires and I assume there is a bit of an up charge so technically not a poser as it’s semi psuedo officially from Toyota

 

TRD wheels will give an extra 3 hp.

Sadly, no.

 

There are different versions of the XP packages but I haven’t seen one with the Pro grille included. I’ve gone through the options myself to build and price on the website. In fact, I actually found an official Toyota webpage with descriptions and a video showing everything included in the various offerings but no Pro grille.

I do want to replace the grille and I’ve been researching to ensure I order the right part(s). I’ve got the TSS on the front so I need that plate plus the grille, but I just want to ensure I get rid of the chrome trim on the current grille.

 

was truck new or used, ? the wheels are from the 2019 trd pro
i put same ones on my 22
i wanted them because they have some shine to them
