Anyone know what this random plug is for behind climate controls? It’s behind where the 4wd knob would be but I have a 2wd.

Did you just answer your own question?

I don't know for certain since I haven't pulled that panel on my truck but it would make sense that would go to the 4WD selector knob. Sometimes it isn't cost effective or logistically easier to just have the same wiring harness for all the trucks.

Yeah I was thinking that but there isn’t a plug behind where the push button start would be.

Caribe posted a diagram showing that’s exactly what it is. As to why there isn’t wiring behind your missing PTS ignition button, I’d speculate that those wires are in use and routed to your keyed ignition…
