Hey Connecticut, our everything hurts

It hit us around 3:40 this morning. Lasted about a half hour; at least the real stuff. Its been raining/drizzling and rumbling ever since. It seems another round is about to roll through.

Last night was rough.

Don't really know around what time it was, but the lightening, thunder and pouring rain was crazy.

And it's doing it all over again now around here. At one point around 9-9;15, it was so dark out that it looked like night time.

Not sure how the plans for this afternoon are gonna go...

My floodlights kicked on.
Was quite sporty out 20 mins ago and picked up a quick 1.25 in of rain.

Looks like it's clearing up, and the sun is coming out.

Guess the half day is still on.

Gotta hook up the trailer and go get 3 or 4 yards of red mulch for the Mrs, and then spread it.

 

It's going in that entire area under the trees, where we have wood chips right now.

 

Actually I lied, ketchup is very important. However this is only in the case of making barbeque sauce.

Up in Vermont and boy are things moist around here! Our yard has a solid 3-4" of water and silt in it (feels good between the toes) and one of our bridges got pushed off its foundation again. Welp, just more work to do once things dry out!

 

Went by the Rocky Hill / Glastonbury ferry today on my lunch break. Never seen it this flooded before. Those ramps in the distance past the flag pole normally go down to the floating docks.

 

I used to work at a steakhouse on the shoreline back in high school. I remember they used to get a big 2 or 3 gallon bag of heinz that would be used refill the bottles that go on the table.

 

Yup, working at Burger King in high school we used the same method

Busy day today. Cut the 2 lawns. Cut mine. Then take the in-laws to Newark this afternoon, to the airport.
