Front End Collision

A girl ran a stop sign a couple weeks ago, hit me, and tried to blame me for some reason. Fortunately, I had a dash cam and got her to accept liability. Truck is at the body shop now. Just wondering if there is anything I should pay particular attention to before signing for the repairs.

Here is the estimate I've been given:





she hit me on the driver's side front wheel. alignment is out of whack but frame looks fine, thankfully. only thing i don't see is the wheel replacement. The wheel itself was pretty scratched up from the collision but we will see if they do anything about that. shop has good reviews so i'm hopeful they do quality work.

looks like it bent the radiator support if i'm reading it correctly. hope it's not cracked. also not sure what they mean by upper fender rail.

total comes out to around $5600. glad i don't have to pay for it with my high deductible.

 

I’m not really sure about what to look for, but I had a very similar incident in my old truck. Elderly lady crashed into the same part of the vehicle.

Insurance covered it and it ran like new when I got it back. Hopefully you have the same result. Glad you’re okay.

 

I would not think capa parts would be quoted for a 21?
I’d ask for oem!

 

i'm not too concerned. it's just a headlamp and the bumper cover. if it looks off, i will complain.

she kept blaming me after the collision. So i called the police. i watched the dash cam footage and three people in a row ran the stop sign. she just followed them like a lemming.

 

Might be from the same crew, I see this often, a band of vehicles following each other doing the same dumb shit.

 

just walk around and make sure that all the panel gaps are the same, nothings crooked, and the paint color looks good.

 

Hope she got in trouble for a false report!

 

she stopped lying once the police showed up. guess the police officer told her she shouldn't run stop signs.
