Jiminy Christmas, I find it virtually objective that Toyota knocked it out of the park w/ 4th Gen design. I dismiss an opposing view regarding its looks, practically out of hand (Seems the vast majority, on how it's been received, are on board. Tundras' redesign did not receive as warm a welcome). Ridiculous. Sometimes art and design's quality/achievement is objective and not subjective. However, as I tell my design students - the bell curve is everywhere and this thread proves it.
Also reminds that if Satan ran for president, he'd get votes. Bizarre how jacked up some people's taste is. Oh well...

I think the new GMC Canyon stands out as the best looking mid size, the new Tacoma looks like it’s trying too hard IMO. I really hate this since I have owned, 4 4runners, 2 Tacoma’s, and 3 Tundras. I will reserve final judgement until I see the Tacoma in person, the Canyon looked very good in person.

I must be the only Taco owner on the planet that LOVES that giant, squared-off 4th-Gen air dam. If that can be fitted on my 2022 Sport and looks as good on it as it looks (to me) on the 4th Gen, I'll consider getting one for free from someone who hates it. That shouldn't be difficult to do :D

Darren, What are you driving now? Since you have owned enough Toyota’s trucks. Curious.

21 4runner sr5 . For my truck needs I’m driving a 2000 chevy 1500 single cab, 130k orig miles. I want to get another truck as soon as the dust settles on all the new models coming out, I don’t want full size. Not a fan of the new rangers looks, the Jeep truck looks weird proportionally, And the Nissan Frontier looks like a cheap imitation of the current gen Tacoma(IMO). If I were buying today I am leaning towards a Canyon Elevation or Colorado Trail Boss. I want to see all the new models in person first. Toyota could sway me with blind spot and adaptive cruise control standard, the GM twins require adding costly packages to get those features. The GM engine is said to be a beast for this class, looks like the Tacoma will be outgunned in that dep’t. Unless you opt for the expensive hybrid power train.

Yeah sounds good a lot of options. I’m like you have owned a lot of Toyota’s. I have a 21 Tundra Pro LunaRock. I love it but don’t need this size of truck to drive around. Pain with trying to find parking or driving it. I feel like going back to what I had 4runner. Had 2 of them before the tundra. But might regret giving this up. Has very low mileage and barely drive it. Kept in a garage always. Don’t off road. Just need a 4x4 for the winter and I love the look of them. Decisions. Lol.

Haven’t read all this but didn’t want the fan boys to jump on me in another 4th gen thread but how does anyone think this thing looks better from a design point. The lines are terrible. It’s pretty fugly.

I’m watching the Toyota produced video at https://youtu.be/92S9EYC3XZo

It doesn’t look as bad there.

What color is the Sport in the video? Doesn’t look like Blue Crush. Is that Blueprint?

From a design standpoint point, it’s okay to me. Holding out for 5th / 6th gen

Ya the Pro looks bada** a little much but it fits. The stupid flares with air flow cut outs and crazy lines on the other trims look so out of place

Looks stellar to me. Much better than the SR5 shots last week. Like all Toyota trucks these days, just needs some larger tires to fill the wheel wells.

Also think that back bed panel is distorted from the wide angle lens making it look like a desert runner. No indication of this in other photos.

Been 2 years starring at Tundra rear ends and still think it’s terrible. Guess we all have our favorite gens style wise, this one is a hard pass for me. It’s fine we are expecting our first in March so once they’re bigger I have green light for a full size.

The Tacoma isn’t really a family truck. You can force it, but why bother with the Tundra or other SUV’s.

I just warned my significant other the Corvette is getting sold this week in preparation for a GX 550, Land Cruiser or next gen 4Runner.

Agreed. Wife has a new Lexus RX hybrid so that will be main kid mobile, I love my Tacoma, but I'm sure I'll be ready to move to a Tundra or Raptor next.
