Also July timeslip was run with the truck running for over 2.5hrs 95degress, so a little heat soak.
I just mashed it, no brake torque.

My mechanic cousin that races said the fastest and easiest way to gain those seconds back is to regear.

I live my life a 1/4 mile at a time, and I drive a Tacoma so my life is really long.

    -Dom Toretto, probably.

Regear…. Yes and no. Regear will help you make it a bit quicker. At the end of the day, you’re still having to spin up the much larger and heavier tires. It won’t get back to where it was stock unless you drop weight or add HP.

the 15.5 second ET in stock form is not bad. not sure i would have guessed it would be that quick.

the thought of a taco on a drag strip is hilarious. i don't think i could've done it. :hattip:

Yep. Easiest way for the non technical is gearing gives you power but horsepower gives you speed. There's a reason dragsters have 10,000 hp.

If your track does bracket racing that's where you should play.

Consistency matters more than ET in that arena.

PS, your reaction time needs some honing. :D

Same! I'm very impressed at the trap speed; hell even the ET was nice considering the 60'. Driving my truck around and having a good baseline of what cars and motorcycles feel like ranging from 10 to 17 second quarter mile performance, the Tacoma feels like mid 16's is what it would do.
