Floor Jack Saddle

So I decided I wanted to try to do some maintenance on my truck myself, and bought a 3t Big Red floor jack. I now realize that the saddle is very small and does not fit around the center front jacking point. I'm concerned it might slip off. Does anyone have any recommendations or am I worrying for nothing?

I would return it and get a something larger.
I don’t know, but it seems awfully small to me.
A lot of us use blocks of wood to increase surface area or for a better reach.
Something like this.

Get a legit jack.
I actually have that little red jack, it’s a joke. For a car it’s fine, but not for a truck. My buddy gave it to me after I let him borrow my big aluminum HF Jack that was in his car one night. The magical night his car got stolen.

 

Thanks for the replies. I think I'm past the point to return it, so I guess I'd need to sell it. I was thinking maybe I could try a hockey puck or wood block first, but I'd still be worried it would slip.

 

You may be able to put a different cup on it. The front never seems to jack up level. If you need height I would find something solid to put under jack!
Always use jack stands tires blocks something so your wife or neighbor doesn’t find you crushed under the vehicle!

I bought something like this for mine because newer cars have limited jack points.
Using the pinch weld part without one will crush pinch weld. I had to Machine it so it fit my jack.

Just jack a corner at a time (if possible for the project you are doing) and jack against a flat part of the frame.

 

Thanks all for your input. I'll try to return it and get something better. The reason I went with that jack was because of the height, since my truck has a 3 inch lift.

 

It never hurts to have an extra jack for mobile uses, so keep the small one for just in case.

I finally bought one of these for home garage work and really like it: It gets taller than any floor jack they sell and will still fit under a sports car when down. Make sure you look for the words LONG REACH on the box.

And above all, invest in a good set of jack stands if you haven't already. Don't get under there with the jack alone.

Always remember something needs to move either the vehicle or the jack!
I got rid of my old floor jack rip cause it was leaking and wheels froze from rust!
