Hey all. I'm going to be installing a radio in my '21 tacoma. Planning on wiring the power cables through the main harness grommet, but the radio is going to be mounted on the passenger side. Is there a way to run the cable through the dash to the passenger side? Additionally, there is also a remote head that is mounted separately from the main RF deck of the radio. Wondering if anyone has any ideas on where/how to mount it on the dash and the cleanest way to run the wires to the RF deck.

There is , but it is used to route CAN network wires for engine/tranny control units. Use driver's side

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
You might want to define "radio."
As in head unit (am-fm etc.) or communications (e.g. CB).

It’s just as easy to run small gauge wire through one of the small grommets on the passenger side of the engine bay. Just zip tie them to the main harness that travels that direction.

Otherwise if I’m running wires from driver to passenger I just pull the kick panel and dead pedal, and then pull the carpet away from the footwell on driver side (usually velcroed in). Then usually untuck the carpet from the little gap where it meets the tranny tunnel and run wires over. Easy. I run all my wiring in mesh wire loom for added protection.

    for warning:
someone here attempted a poke through and did some considerable damage to the wiring harness, that looked to be in a horrible (near impossible) place to repair. So just be careful, I know it's sounds obvious, but we all make mistakes.

That makes sense. I'll look for grommets on the passenger side.

On the passenger side the AC drain hose has a good size opening and is easy to get to on the interior & exterior. Also nothing to damage. Here is a video for reference. Currently running my radio antenna and ARB wiring harness through it.

My radio is different from yours, a Cobra 75 cb, I put the "box" under the driver's seat so it's not seen, works great, than you can run wires under center console to the dash. May be an option for you to consider.

Oh that looks perfect. I think that will work. Thank you!

That would be ideal but its has much higher output than most CB radios. SSB CB radios can do a max of 12 watts. This XTL can put out 110 W on high power so it needs space for air circulation for cooling.
