Hey guys. I was working on removing my BakFlip last night and ended up stripping one of the bed rail bolts… worst thing I could ever encounter.

Anyone have any tips for removing the stripped bolt, AND also know where I can get a new replacement bolt? Local stores like Lowes, etc? Or even if you know the size to the bolt, that would help a lot.

    Thanks!

I’m sure you can source the bolt either from Toyota or once you remove it.

    Try an easy out kit.

Easy out - if you haven’t used one before you need to drill a hole in the bolt that is deep- too shallow and you will break the easy out in the hole and will cause a worse problem. Be sure to read the directions as to the right size drill bit to use. True value sells them.

Another option is use a Dremel cutoff disc and cut a slot in the head, and use a flat head screw driver to back it out.

    Oooh- I like that idea!
OP- try that before the easy out- I hate it when a easy out becomes a hard out if I break one off in the drill hole.
