In your first picture inside the shell, those black half-circles are just beauty caps. You can pry them off with a flathead screwdriver or similar which should reveal the nut and washer underneath.

In the second picture showing the track/rail, you can remove those top mounting feet easily by just removing the hex screw, probably like a 5mm or 6mm.

If you want to remove the entire track/rail, you'd have to take thew bolt out from the top while having someone inside the shell holding the nut with a wrench or socket. Only issue then is you'd have like 12 holes in your camper shell that would need sealing up.

The caps are on the exposed, threaded ends of the bolts holding the tracks in place to make them look better but also to keep pieces of your scalp from hanging from the roof- they hurt when you bang your head on them. As already noted, if you remove the tracks you are going to have holes that need filling; whether you put some sort of bolt through the hole to fill it is up to you. You may have some sort of silicon or adhesive under the tracks to deal with depending on who installed them (Yakima only recommends it on the bolts/hole itself but you never know what someone has actually done).

If I pry the beauty caps off that are hiding the threaded end of the bolts can put the caps back on when I am finished I am not trying to remove the roof rack just want to know how the beauty caps work and how to put them back on when I’m done thanks for the advice though

Dunno. They look like they're plastic or rubber, either way they appear to pop on but that doesn't mean they're going to hold as tight when you put them back. Pop one off and see. :notsure: There are various styles of cap available including simple rubber pieces that slide on (common in the big box stores like Lowe's and HD), but the ones you have look better.
