I tore the JBL system out of my 2022 pro, it was truly terrible. Integration to the factory head unit is now through a Rockford Fosgate DSR1. I upgraded all speaker to the kicker upgrade from Trail Grid Pro. The amp is a Rockford Fosgate r2-750x5. The sub is a Skar Audio tacoma specific fiberglass box with an MB Quartz DS1-254 Discus Shallow Mount Subwoofer(I did have to find a non JBL storage compartment for the passenger side rear wall). Overall I couldn't be happier with the setup, It exceeds all expectations I had keeping the stock head unit and speaker wires.

Sorry no pictures of the install as I work ALOT and was a project that took a few weeks.

How does it sound with the setup is the bass clear and able to produce bass with different kind of music . What sub brands can u run in the box ? I’m looking to upgrade to a 10 from my jl audio 8 micro sub set up . The 8 I find is lacking mid level bass.

The box is approximately 0.6 CF so any sub that works in that space that is less than 3.75 in deep will work. I went with the MB Quartz because is was only 59 bucks on Amazon. So far I love it. Tuning with the DSR1 makes it sound like a much higher end system in my opinion.

    Looks good and clean job!
Glad it sounds good for you now.
Although I do consider myself an audiophile when it comes to home listening pleasure in the man cave with 2 channel setups. But back to the cars/truck scene I feel my JBL factory setup sounds pretty darn good in my 23 TRD off-road. Im coming from a 2022 Bmw M240i that came with the factory Harman Kardon and I think this JBL setup sounds much better. Of course you have to factor in your source of music and I listen to mostly satellite Xm. I do believe there is room for improvement but I was actually pretty impressed for a factory option. I use to run alpine head units heavy gauge wires JL audio subs/amps focal speakers and that was pretty good :) With all that being said everyone will hear different things when it comes to Audio equipment and we all have different tastes and needs but when it comes to audio the sky is the limit and your budget of course .
I hope you enjoy your new setup and again great job it really looks clean !

dope! Was installing the amp difficult. Do you think that would be the only option?

Nice job with the install and I'm pleased your happy with it. Surely referring to the JBL as "terrible" is a stretch, right?

I couldn't agree more. The factory JBL in my '23 TRD OR may not win any contests but it makes driving my truck very enjoyable. I stream most of my music from Spotify so there is a little SQ loss and some music just isn't quite loud enough when turned all the way up but 95% of the time I'm VERY happy with it.
