I have a noise I cannot find. A hard "clunk" coming from in front of passenger seat, in/under engine bay. Can be heard and felt. Occasionally when shifting into drive, always when off-road due to rocks etc rocking the truck.
I checked motor and trans mounts, no movement, checked right side suspension, found nothing.

So, who is good at diagnosing these things in San Diego ?

maybe upper control arm or steering wheel moving around? Look up the zip tie mod for the steering wheel column

Bring it to the taco garage, we won't charge to check it

Even though it feels like it might be towards the front, check driveshaft center bearings, all u-joints, and CV shafts. Then, wheel bearings and ball joints.

We work on Tacomas almost exclusively, we don’t know everything and we’re not perfect but we love tacos and enjoy what we do, that allows us to be good at what we do.
That being said, it would be good to know what kinds of mods if any your truck has installed, and if there was any recent work done. Without context first thing I would check would be UCAs.
In any case, a free extra set of eyes won’t hurt.
If you call tomorrow ask for Andy.

You need to start a new thread in the 2nd Gen Forum.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/forums/2nd-gen-tacomas-2005-2015.5/

A lot more chance of getting help there.
