I think traffic circles would be ok if people knew how to use them. But they don’t, and when you get congestion, circles are just miserable.

In this state for some reason half of the people think they're supposed to stop when they have the right of way. They do it over and over again. Causes accidents too. Can't fix stupid.

Your issues are not isolated to Michigan.

Our driving tests are a joke.

Late to the party here, but this must be a regional thing. I live in a rural farm area and have had several manual vehicles living here. Not once did anyone have to grab me to move my car or truck. I mean, most of these "kids" were driving a tractor as soon as their feet could reach the pedals. Also had a couple manual vehicles when I lived in Mississippi, same thing, nobody had any issues. :notsure:

    Very regional.

I used to get mocked in high school for driving a stick shift. Although to be fair, might have been more about the car and less about the transmission

Omfg I thought that was a joke until Sunday. Went to my nephew’s 14th bday party. My sister made the poor kid read his bday cards out loud and half were in cursive, he looked at me and said ‘auntie, I cant read these. Can you help me’.. HE COULDNT READ CURSIVE.. he can drive a manual though so hes got that going for him.

I've always thought round-abouts (i think we're talking about the same thing here) were fairly intuitive. Nobody ever showed me how to use one it was just common sense, dont hit anyone and don't pull in front of oncoming vehicles if it might cause a collision.

    single-lane round-abouts make perfect sense.

in my area, they've started adding one's with inside and outside turning lanes. on one of them, it's a 2-lane road leading up to a spontaneous inside-left-turn lane with only 1 sign indicating the turn lane 10' before the round-about, and only 1 lane is allowed all the way through...

So? You'll be there soon too. Like that old jingle:

"Enjoy yourself: It's later than you think...
Enjoy yourself: While you're still in the pink...
The world goes by, as quickly as a wink....
Enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself, it's later than you think!"
