I’m in the process of purchasing a 2015 Tacoma limited. I have a concern with the rear leaf springs because the truck seems to sit low in the rear end.
It looks like it has 3 springs and I was wondering if that is normal for the Limited?

Normal, you got to remember you have the weight of a camper shell on the rear.

Can always swap out the leafs for something beefier down the line.

2 leafs with 1 overload leaf was recalled, I don't know what year Toyota stopped making that leaf spring. 3 leafs with 1 overload leaf is the later updated version. All 2nd and 3rd gen Tacoma leaf springs are the same, they don't vary by the model of Tacoma.

TRD Off-Road models have 1 less leaf spring.

Hey Chuck, welcome to Tacoma World

My truck sagged a bit in the back with the camper shell too, I put a set of these on and fixed it right up.

Takes about 30 minutes in the driveway, you don't even have to jack up the truck.

It sits low because instead of upgrading leafs like they’re supposed to for handling shell weight, they spent the money on ugly chrome additions and non in-channel rain guards.
If their driving was as slow as their mods it could indicate the truck wasn’t beat on.

i would research a few more things depending on what youre going to do with the truck. There's also airbags, sumo springs, a whole new leaf pack. I have sumo's on mine, and im not an expert on all options, just saying research before dropping on a helper

My leaf springs were replaced FREE as part of a recall from Toyota. Check with a Toyota Dealer to see if your Tacoma is subject to the recall.

Exactly. ALL 2 leaf with 1 overload leaf springs, regardless of model, were recalled. They break.

Off road models built before November of 2013 did come with 2+1 leaf packs

Those leaf packs were not necessarily recalled (that recall covered 05-11 model years regardless of 2+1 or 3+1 leaf packs).... how do i know, I have a pre nov 2013 build, 2013 TRD OR that came with a 2+1 leaf pack that was NOT recalled.

All 6 lug trucks built after nov 2013 came with 3+1 leaf packs to combat driveline vibes and there was a tsb to update trucks within their warranty to the 3+1 leaf pack with proper degree shim.

To the OP, it should have 3 main leafs + 1 overload leaf given that its a 2015. Yeah it will sag but you can do air bags or sumo springs if you want to keep the stock leaf packs.

My 2014 has four leafs. The bottom one is unloaded most of the time unless I put sand bags in the bed for the winter. Even then: that bottom leaf is barely loaded. (300 lbs) No sag in the back. So far: it handles everything: trailer towing, bulk load of wet red hemlock mulch, 14" of wet snow... without ruining it: no sag.

Anyone have some web links where to check for open recalls for Toyota Trucks?

Just buy it. It's the topper. I looked for a LB V6 4x4 for seven months and never came close to finding one...
