I had to leave the Facebook tech groups. There's lots of help, but they are usually VERY toxic with each other.

I can tell you not many Toyota techs have 3rd gens. We don't care for them. The biggest issue is the shifting and power band.

As for working on them, the coolant cross over pipe sucks, and timing cover sucks, neither pay well.

The new Tundra sits lower in our books so don't worry too much.

What newer vehicles are popular with the techs?

Seems like everything is over complicated these days.

We like the FWD platforms. All of them kick ass.

The Corolla handles amazing, even in Hybrid form. Cross is popular, outselling inventory.

The Sienna HV is doing well for reliability and fuel economy for a boat.

The Highlander in the new 2.4 Turbo form is a BLAST to drive.

    CHR is dead, it sucked.

Camry hasnt changed much, but no issues. V6 is dead.

Some days I miss the simplicity of owning a cheaper and more compact vehicle.

Seems like Toyota trucks ride that legendary reputation over all else.

They cheated with 3rd gens and re-using the platform. To me the mid 90's change from torsion to coil over was the biggest change and it was amazing, now they are far too complacent for too long.

I feel like the Tundra and Tacoma need to evolve more to keep up, but they sell no matter what.

Still good, but it feels like Dallas cowboys/Toronto Maple Leafs, people buy the jerseys no matter the outcome.

To be fair, it’s the old school nature that make them desirable. Sure Ram’s and such are nice, but so is actually driving your vehicle in lieu of a loaner while yours is being repaired.

Complacency is one thing, but for the prices they sell for, yeah they could definitely use more evolution.

Mine drips water from the a/c box when I ran it on a long trip to South Carolina only dripped with fresh air mode on. When I run recirculate it doesn’t drip. Never noticed this until driving for a few hours. Being that you’re a tech, should I bring it to the dealer? What could the dealer really do sounds like a design flaw and kinda normal from what I’m reading. Your thoughts?

You’re bringing in too much moisture, it’s overwhelming the ac.

Use recirc, it’s easier to maintain the air in the cabin than to pull in humid hot air.

Likely the evaporator is frosting when you are leaving fresh air on too long.
