I bought my truck with the orange dash and stitching combo. Swapped the dash for a gunmetal the first week and then lived with the orange stitching for two years.

Discovered this weekend that a red sharpie was all I needed to "de-ugly" the orange stitching. Not exactly a perfect "TRD RED" color match but just enough to take the 'bite' out of the orange color.

No offence to the people who like orange, it just ain't it for me.

    Enough for now
If you use a warm iron on it the color won’t bleed. Learned that from marking t shirts

Always thought the orange dash thing was hideous. Never looked long enough to notice the stitching was awful too.

Badass will do this. Did some experimenting on the rear seat stitching before going whole hog.

Agreed. It's atrocious. Will post a picture of how it all turned out.

So quick disclaimer, your mileage may vary but I’m pretty pleased with the results. Will update if I have any issues with fading/staining.

Sharpie seamed to flow freely into the stitching but not the canvas which was good. This, combined with the black fabric, really made this pretty easy.

    Images if anyone’s interested:

    Finished drivers seat

    Finished passenger seat.

Comparison, passenger seat orange, driver red.

Like I said, not a stark difference but just enough for my purposes.

Between this and the hood scoop, I feel like I’m back in my old WRX :D

So the orange stitching only comes with cloth seats? My 2020 has the orange dash trim and leather seats but no orange stitching. I highly dislike the orange trim, doesn't match anything in the truck

Edit: Where did you buy the gunmetal trim? Got a part # handy by chance?

That is a might big 'if'. I wouldn't want to be the one that tries it out. I once accidentally dropped a black sock in with the whites. It had been washed and dried 100 times, but that didn't stop it from ruining a load of whites that were mostly my wife's. I still catch grief over that. I don't think there is anything permanent about permanent marker.
