Hi there, I just purchased a first gen tacoma RWD manual 2.4l.
I noticed the truck steers more in one direction then the other, I believe the owner mentioned the rack was replaced. Is there a way for me to straighten it so I dont have a larger turning angle only when I turn left?
    Thanks, Matteo

Did you check your PSI? A drastic difference between the two might cause pulling/drifting. Another thing to check would be tire wear. Is one tire worn excessively or in an abnormal (not even) way?

Have you taken it in for an alignment?

No perhaps I wasnt detailed enough in the explaination. My turning angle is further when I turn left and less when I turn right. If the truck is parked and i crank the wheel to the left it turns more than right. I need to somehow fix the rack to straighten it.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Just be careful . Turning the steering Wheel when disconnected from the steering rack very easy to damage the Clock Spring .

Either the steering shaft was never lined up correct with the new steering rack.

Another possibility is the outer tie rod installing was messed up .

When replacing the steering Rack there is no need to disconnect the rag joint unless that is also being replaced.

Most likely the rack wasn't centered when they put the steering shaft coupler back on. One of the outer tie rods could be buried more than the other. Check to see if the roughly the same amount of threads are exposed on both sides

Best way would be to remove the coupler and outer tire rods, center the rack so the tie rods are equal length from the housing, put the coupler back on and then the tie rods. Set alignment, done..
