I don’t see how a wrap would protect the truck from branches ,rocks and so on . Wraps are designed mainly for looks . Yes you will get some protection for minor stuff .off roading it’s not going to do much . If you want to protect the truck get it rhino painted that will take a beating off-roading .

What you should do, that many people do not, is keep that thing nice and coated...wax the hell out of it, ceramic, whatever you choose. Even with a bunch of pinstripes if its overall smooth and slick, a lot of the would be pinstripes and scuffs wont happen.

I have had mine corrected once after they got too bad, but I just take care of it the same as a nicer car, and keep waxing over all the pinstripes. Helps keep them less glaringly apparent and helps protect against always getting new ones.

My opinion, just drive / wheel the damn thing as is. A mass produced vehicle is not an investment, it's a depreciating asset the moment you drive it off the lot. Use but don't abuse!

PS: for you math nerds, $8,000 is roughly 20% of the price of a new truck! As your internet financial advisor, I strongly discourage this move. But then again, many financial decisions are emotional.

    Carry on!

I use my truck as a tool and care for it mechanically. It’s not a sports car and I don’t lose sleep over how perfect it looks.

Doting over truck paint is like polishing a hammer or stressing over the finish on a carry gun… it makes zero sense to me.

that’s a pretty typical quote. PPF isn’t cheap and their target market isn’t people with run of the mill pickup trucks.

been tons of posts over the years with people posting and bitching about similar quotes.

I say either wheel it and live with pinstripes (it gets easier and easier as time goes on) or stick to the pavement. You can’t have your cake and eat it too.

$8k fixes a LOT of scratches.

I’m saying if you like wheelin then I’d get an older rig, I wouldn’t buy a 23 and proceed to beat the shit out of it.

Some here would. It all depends on their financial situation.

Nice. I plan on wrapping my Tacoma. Got a quote last week.

Not doing the hood and my bumpers are steel now, so it's a little less than if you were doing the full truck, hood, bumpers and all.

I have my hood, fenders and doors wrapped. it has helped, but in some places it got damaged, so I have just left it. Having a tan truck, keeps the pinstriping from showing too much. I also have the front, hood and fenders done on my 2012 SLK350 and it helps from rock chips.
