Finally joined the Taco Life!

Hello all! Just stumbled upon this community while scouring the web for accessories and whatnot for my birthday present I got myself yesterday. Been a Tacoma fan for probably 20 years, back when a buddy had a 1st gen monster truck (can’t remember exactly but it had to be a 6 FOOT lift with 55s or something nutty)

I’ve been driving a 07 Sierra classic and an 04 Ranger(work commute) for the last 15ish years. Tranny went out on the Sierra at 150k miles and the ranger’s AC has broken during the hottest part of the year(Louisiana) for the 5th year in a row. I finally did myself a favor and picked something known for its reliability and resale. Would have loved to have gotten a TRD Pro or off-road, but I don’t really off-road in my daily vehicles so locking diff, rock crawling mode, etc is overkill. My 3.5 V6 SR5 4x4 double cab is ideal for me, honestly.

Most importantly, I’m excited to start modding (moderately though)! I’ve already have Clazzio seat covers and 15+ little things I’ve seen must haves for Tacos. Cheers TacomaWorld friends!

Seat covers and weather tech HP mats on the way, what do y’all recommend next between a S&B cold air intake, a Pedal Commander, or something else in that price range?

 

Welcome! I’m a returning member who also just picked up a Silver SR5 3.5 V6 SR5 4x4 SBDC. Only thing I’ve done is remove the front air dam and I’ll give it a couple of weeks before deciding if I want to leave it off. I’d like to replace the stock skid plate with a TRD PRO skid and put a bully bar or bar/bumper combo on the front. Also would like to add a tonneau cover, get some Clazzio’s, and I could keep going. I could easily drop another $10k if I did all I want but maybe in time it’ll get there. For now, it’s a sweet truck as is and I love it. Yours looks almost identical to it. What size are your tires? Doing any suspension upgrades?

 

It came with 265/65 nitto teragraplers. Only suspension mods I plan on doing is a leveling kit of some sort, so I won’t have to spend so much on new tires to keep the wheel gaps filled out.
