Just had my gears re done 5.29’s. Truck drives great. Finally took it on a wheeling trip. Freaking love the gears!!
Not soon after I developed a slight vibration steering wheel seems to move strait up and down between 20-35mph then it smoothed out after that. Now I have some big chunks ripped out of my mud terrain lugs so I thought maybe that was it. I’m going to rotate my tires soon see if that fixes the issue but I do not think that’s it. I did get my tranny temp light to come on on the wheeling trip. Pulled over after 30 seconds let it cool and continued to drive out.

now when I shift from park to reverse or drive after the truck sits I get a loud ding like someone rang a bell. Not sure what that is but don’t ever remember hearing that sounds.

lifted my front end up and rocking my wheels up and down is very solid no movement.
when I move from left to right I can move my rim quite a lot. Not sure if that is normal?? Maybe someone can help me out with that question

I do not think it’s my gears because they where pulled and checked for break in and they are perfectly broken in. My u joins are tight and greased and no wiggle in the drive shaft. Can’t really figure out where this vibration is coming from. Don’t think it’s wheel bearings or CV’s they all look and feel good.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

The loud ding sounds like it could be your rear slip yolk needing grease.

My rear wheel bearings are going out (planning to replace them this weekend), and I'm getting a very noticeable vibration from 30-35, but they're pretty smooth faster than that. Hard to say what your vibration is coming from, but I'd definitely grease your slip yolk, then go from there.

It was low for sure again ha. We see if that helps the bell noise.

anyone know if my front tire should be moving from right to left off the ground? Can remember if the tire is supposed to be solid when wiggled left to right. Thinking maybe bad sterling rack

Yeah tap on the drive shaft with something metal like a screw driver to see if that's the tone you hear. Mine makes a bell tone.
