I was under my truck double checking something and noticed the vacuum line on the ADD actuator for the transfer case was broken off and the hose was totally worn out.

Im not 100% sure when this happened and I used my 4wd the other day and it worked fine.

and a couple vague response on tacoworld seem to indicate that the vacuum system became obsolete starting 2001.

Just want to double check before I go chasing down the where the vacuum line connects to and size etc.

    Thanks

It's a vent line. You're fine as long as you keep water out.

    Pre-00 is vacuum controlled
    01-04 is electronic actuated

Would it hurt to cap it off? or does it need to blow out air

Is plastic nipple completely broken off? If there's enough plastic left and you're able to connect a small vacuum line to it, I rather vent it vs capping it.
