    Hey TW folk!

    I have an 02’ 3.4 w 330,000miles
I noticed yesterday when I pulled the key out of the ignition I had a random clicking coming from under the steering column and the tail lights, or brake lights, are staying on even with the keys in my pocket.

what do you guys think it is? Probably a switch but I figured TW would have a quick answer.
    thanks a million

Recently had this on another vehicle (lights staying on - no clicking noise though). The little plastic insert on the arm of the brake pedal had deteriorated and fallen out in pieces. Therefore nothing there to depress the plunger on the switch - car thought the brakes were on all the time (cruise control wouldn't engage either because the car thought the brakes were on). $10 I think at O'Reilly's to buy a pkg of two different type/size. If this is it, do yourself a favor and turn the key on before you start pushing on the brake pedal to stick that little rubber piece in there. I fought it for about an hour not being able to push the pedal far enough to work up under there - much easier with the ignition on. :)

It's probably this. The bumper from the dealer was 82 cents out the door.

The little plastic stop is intact, that was my first thought.

I did that on my old Honda. Fought to get that thing in there for a while, then turned the key and felt like a dunce.

Does cruise (if you have it) work?

Are you sure there's not an aftermarket alarm/remote start unit under there that's gone on the fritz?
See if you can locate what's clicking, that would help to narrow down the issue.

    No alarm or remote start.
Every time I stick my head under there to pinpoint it, the clicking stops.. ugh

Any problem shifting out of park (if auto)?

For the $20ish I think I'd replace the switch to see if that does it.
