just purchased a 2003 2.7 manuel extended cab abs light is on
when I brake pedal goes all the way down it slows down and starts pulling to the right I also feel a strange kind off slightly jumping
I noticed a cut wire right off a connector near the driver head light and battery witch seems like it’s connected to the same wires that the driver side abs is connected to
wondering if that can be the problem
    here’s some images
is that wire for the abs system

That wire looks like it has been cut for some time.

When was the last time brakes were done/serviced?

The person I purchased it from just had it as a yard truck at upstate New York. It had a bunch of mud stuck on the undercarriage. I power washed it all out. I tried to reach out to him to find out about some other stuff I repaired on the truck he wouldn’t respond. I guess he had enough with the truck.

Would the brakes being spongee, not working properly, the pulling to the right, and the strange/slight jumping when trying to brake have anything with the abs light being on. Also when I first got the truck the brake lines were corroded and leaking so I repaired a few pieces. Before the abs light would blink then stay on it was doing that when I first got the truck and brakes were way worse. Now it just stays on.

Also it’s pretty dangerous because if I try to stop short which it really doesn’t work but the truck really pulls to the right hard.I usually have to start braking and slowing down super early before coming to a complete stop.

Service the brakes, and either get new/reman calipers or rebuild yours if they are still OEM. The ABS system wouldn't cause the truck to pull one way or the other- A failed or disconnected sensor on one corner of the truck would simply just deactivate the whole ABS system.

uhm, yeah. Either take it in and have the brakes serviced or start looking at doing the work yourself.
Front brakes I recommend Akebono pads and Brembo rotors.
Rear brakes stick with OEM toyota shoes and drums.

First things first, figure out the pedal to the floor. See below. One thing he doesn't mention is the booster. If checking what he mentions still yields nothing, could be the booster.

My bet, it just needs to be serviced.

    Cheers.

Has anyone out there had this problem before? If so, were you able to fix it yourself? I’m on a super tight budget so will have to do it myself. If anyone else has any tips I would highly appreciate it ! Thank you so much TWCREW!!!
