Looking at a 2012 Taco 4door. Truck is in NH. Has the time passed if this truck needs a frame? Truck is being sold at a Jeep dealer and the asking price is about 3k under KBB. Did call and asked if they had any info about this, they said that it looks like the original frame. Thanks for any info.

Thanks, I think I will at least take a look at it. Maybe contact Toyota with the vin. I have a 03 SR5 TRD that I have owned for 5 years. Frame was recalled and I have been staying on top of it. Love the truck but would like 4 door. Thanks again.

Toyota pays the dealer less warranty time for a frame. The dealer may fight to not do it if you’re near the out time.
Not to mention their guidelines to start with a spray first, and test the frame by hitting it with a hammer; if it doesn’t punch a hole through then they don’t consider it rusted enough to warrant a replacement.

and there’s cases of techs doing the job improperly
Might be better to look for a truck that isn’t rusted

I'm getting a sense that you're wasting time with this one. These trucks dont normally sell for less than market value. I could be wrong, though. Interested in hearing/seeing what you find.....
