Stranded this morning

A bit exaggerated but i suppose most things are on these forums.
Growing up, My parents had nothing but old beaters from the 70-80's.
Hell, My dad had this suburban i think it's a '73...he was still driving that up until about 2005-ish, had 350K on it. Yeah we worked on it alot but you could also stand in that engine bay while working on it.

 

True dat - at least when you opened the hood everything was right in front of you.

 

Electric cars are uber reliable. Clearly they're the future. Shit like this is ridiculous.

 

Drive them in Cleveland, buffalo, or any other snow/salt area in the rust belt and you’ll understand.

Hopefully the Dealer ends up telling the OP what caused the engine to go bad.

 

Is the 3.5 assembled in Alabama?

 

Dang, I'm really glad my Land Cruisers and Datsun/Nissan Z cars never got the memo.

Now the early mid 70's/80's American stuff, yeah, rancid trash for the most part. There were some good ones in the mix though, I have no complaints about my 79 Ford Bronco, it was built quite well mechanically. [even though the 400m engine was an anchor in stock form.]

 

Either Huntsville, Alabama, or Buffalo, West Virginia. Both seem to produce the 2GR-FKS.

 

I ended up in my Tacoma because my Subaru decided to go without warning at 52k miles

 

Subaru reliability isn't all it's cracked up to be, regardless of 'Built in Japan!!!111' (Forester).

 

Only other ICE car brand I'd buy is Mazda. I'll support my wife buying a Honda though

Plenty of examples of these 3.5’s hitting 200k & 300k though….so there’s that…

 

Yeah, I'm not so much of a fan of Subaru engines, well at least the EJ engines found in the WRX and WRX STi, based off what I've seen.

 

More like battery error.
