Several times yesterday my tacoma hesitated when accelerating into traffic "dangerous". Only reapplying acceleration will it respond. I have a 2010 Tacoma and a 2015 lexus and all have same characteristic. All are v6 auto.
I had the 2010 put on computer and had no bad codes. ???

Your 2021 has the dreaded 3.5 / 6 speed combo

well known design flaw with gear hunting and quirky operation. Get the manual or get it tuned.

Drive by wire has this effect no matter the vehicle. Especially if you just mash the gas and don't gradually ease into it.

True, he did mention it in his other models as well. Wonder if he notices it more in the 2021? Either way this is why I like MT

I'd imagine the 2015 is drive by wire. I had a 2008 Canyon that was. Not sure about the 2010. But I find the computer gets a little confused when you mash the gas as it tries to figure out the proper fuel/air input. It happens on my work vehicles as well. Slowly going to full throttle (1-2 seconds) tends to be far more effective than going 3/4 or more right away, in my experience. Not really sure the MT makes much of a difference in that regard, but I suppose it is one less thing for the computer to try and figure out. Can't say I have any hesitation issues in my 2017 I less I just try and hammer it, which is pretty much never.

Even the manual has some hesitation to it some times. Not as bad as the auto, but it's there.

But, I generally drive pretty easy most of the time. That's when I notice it. However, if I'm running the gears through a higher RPM range, yea no issue.
