Portable Bissel carpet cleaner works great. Also some pics of the seats would help.

I have this Bissell extractor. Haven’t used it in the interior of the Tacoma because I’m afraid of how wet the carpet and seats will get.

I’ve only used it inside my house on two rugs (dog had explosive diarrhea) and even with close monitoring of how much spray I was introducing and many, many, many, dry passes… the rug (and hardwood floor underneath) was still very damp.

Had to prop the rugs up with books and have a fan move air under it for a couple of days.

What do you all recommend doing for interior auto detailing using one of these machines? (I’ve watched YT videos and none of them discuss damp carpet, seats and seat foam)

    thanks.

I've done it. Pick a non-humid day, have a garage where you can leave the windows down overnight, and have at it. It cleans them nicely.

That said, I can't recommend covers and floor liners enough. Its been over a year, and my cloth looks as clean as the last time I did that.

Well normally I live in a very arid climate. However this spring/early summer has made it one of the most humid seasons we’ve had ever.

I have a garage where I can leave this windows/doors open overnight (turn off dome light).

I’m just concerned about the moisture underneath the fabric (seat foam, carpet padding, etc) that this extractor doesn’t seemingly pull out.

I have weather tech liners front and rear. And plan on getting seat covers once I clean these ones up, clean the 4runner seats I will install in front, so that the front and rear match.

Only problem is I need seat covers that don’t trap dog hair, eg Wet Okoles (dog hair weaves itself into the neoprene fabric).

Have a shop vac? I found that a session with my shop vac will take most of the moisture the Bissell misses. Then maybe set a couple of desk fans on the floor and let them circulate air overnight.

For covers - clazzios. I'm not a leather fan either, but the clazzios dog-proofed my truck.

Good idea about the shop vac. I’ll end up buying the 1 1/4” kit for auto detailing and using it.

I’ll check out Clazzios but leather gets way too hot here in the summer and way too cold in the winter.

edit: nvm. Clazzio doesn’t make covers for a 1st gen Tacoma or 3rd gen T4R (front seats)

Use a soft bristle drill brush prior to extraction.

Yes the seats will be damp after the Bissel but choose your weather and time of day wisely and you’re GTG. You can also speed things up with a hair dryer and/or running the vehicle with some heat.

Ive always sprayed them down with Tuff Stuff, went over them real good with a brush and then use a shop vac on them. Do the carpets as well.

I do have one of those portable Bissell carpet scrubbers I had never even thought of using till reading this thread lol. I'll give it a shot next time
