Over Greased Slip Yoke

    2001 4x4 v6 Manual
    First time greasing the drive shaft and I over greased the 2 slip yokes, thinking I was greasing a u joint.

    I removed the zerks and unbolted the slip yokes then manually compressed each one. Was able to get a fair amount out, then drove over some speed humps and didnt get much more out.

    Still seems like the shafts are expanded more than they should be as if I still have extra grease in them. Or is this how they should appear?

    The total length should be fixed when installed. As long as you manually compressed it by hand and removed enough grease to prevent binding you should be ok.

    I guess 'fixed' isnt the best word, but you know what I mean. When the truck is stationary the flanges are fixed

    Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
    In theory unless it is blocked from dirt any extra grease should be pushed out through the sleeve yoke.

    Who knows if the holes are still opened .
