@johneman Ken: I am struggling but muddling through. My brain tells the hands and fingers what to do but the hands say " hold my beer"

Question guys and ladies. Are N-Fab running board replacements decent? My son hit a post with his F150 and the running board took the brunt of the punishment. An OEM board in over $800.00 a side. Ebay has them for over $300 each. The N-Fab is around $500 delivered for the set.

I had them on my '16 transferred them to my '19 and let them go, my wife hated them in the winter. The punch outs for the anti slip were non existent, looked good though. My other issue was in the disscription from the online store Auto Anything it said American made, in the box it had a sticker made in China. I found this set for my '21 I love because my wife is happy she doesn't loose her footing anymore. I had to buy that anti slip tape for the N-fabs. I'll. Look up what I got. Extra note my wife is 4'9" tall these also have a lower drop. The other set were considered rock sliders, higher and tighter to the truck.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Got that in just under the wire. Slow poke today. Got to go putz on the greenhouse drips. Stories (so far) for the window and truck experiment coming later on.

Nice rides, @CTSpruceMica . I don't know if we have any TV stars come to the shows I go to! Probably just influencers!

5 hours on grass, and I know you ride @Devious6 ? Man, you needed those G&Ts!

Afternoon Tom. Kind of like the brain telling my fingers what to type and my fingers say "What you talking about".

When I bought my new Tacoma I went with Go Rhino steps. A little pricey but nice steps. https://www.gorhino.com/series-511-...ts.html#!model=TACOMA||make=TOYOTA||year=2021. They have others as well.

@95SLE, my truck came with old chrome nerf steps, replaced with Predator cast offs, replaced with the Go Rhino Dominators above. Plenty of room for the feet!

So, the putz in the greenhouse didn't go that well. Pump timer OFF command seems to have not worked, emptied the barrel itself. So, tend to that - can't tell why OFF function didn't work yet. On to the drips. Getting really poor flow in the hoses, so I redid the feeds, didn't make a lot of difference. Pulled out drips, and where I usually will get sprayed, I got nothing. Was fixing to connect the garden hose, when I noticed all the black clouds. Phone radar says lighting within 5 miles, so being that the pool and a little metal frame shed aren't the place to be, I packed it all in for the day. Nothing happened, but NASCAR gave me a nap....

So, the window.. still have the greenhouse cover up. Tried to make it fit diagonally, but not big enough. So I made an imaginary line across the triangle, to track the sun. A sail isn't going to work, as the sun drifts NW, it crosses where a sail would cover. And the size I would need is ~$150, not $29. And the grade of the sunroom roof would put it over the roof, when mounted. So - no.
I measured the door and window, and put in the sizes which are NOT any normal commercially available. Priced it up on Blindster, where I got the nice shades inside, and that was going to be over $285. So - no.
This is at most, a two month problems. Last night, wife offers that I should get some foam with silver to reflect, and just hide it behind the shade, and the door blind. Since they are down anyway. And it's for 2 months (we guess). And that will probably cost me about $35, and I can store them with the greenhouse foam in the garage. So, when I get the truck back - YES.

get the truck back? yeah, well...

Over the Fourth, you may recall I replaced the serp belt with a new one (Gates), replaced, and put back the AC Blend door (which goes taptaptap sometimes). Now, at that grand opening party, I didn't meet (but kept trying to) this 25+ year Toyota Master tech that just opened a new Toyota Lexus shop nearby the other shop. Almost all of these highly modded Toyotas have already been there, or plan to. So, I consider that as good a recommendation as I am going to get. Because RIGHT AFTER I did that work....
"Customer states: grinding noise on starting, perhaps AC compressor, or starter". Three days of DIY investigation found if I always turned off the AC, didn't get the noise. So, could be the compressor. Maybe not. Next day, same noise without AC on start. I'm paranoid that it will strand me. So, I made the appointment for this past week, and THE NOISE HAS NOT RESURFACED ANY TIME, WITH OR WITHOUT AC ON.
So, I'm going to cancel the appointment, unless they happen to be willing to work on AC boxes in the cab, because
"Customer states: AC fan makes a lot of noise, but doesn't seem to be moving enough air." Now, that's somewhat subjective, because what is "enough" air? I'm blowing 40*-45* at the vents, so I'm thinking it should be cooling me more than it is. I gave them the recent history, and the fact that Covid ASE guy literally rebuilt it 2 years ago (but never quite charged it fully). So, they even put cameras inside the vents, checked the position actuator, blend actuator, and compared it to another Taco in the lot. EVERYTHING IS WORKING PERFECTLY, IT'S JUST FREAKING HOT AND SO IS THE DRIVER.

But, they did some other inspections, because they want to get a baseline on new vehicles they might see again. That's OK, because I do need a shop that is NOT a dealership. They didn't like my Gates serp belt (they DO look pre-used), but I told him it was new, and no, not failing, just looked dull and old. Drivers front bearing is failing. I put is a Dorman 2 years back, and I can't hear them until they are BAD, so do that. Pulled plugs that I did with Irridiums at 190K when I got it, didn't like the gap or the plug, so putting in Toyota copper plugs. Neither of these jobs I particularly want to do again, in this heat. For 30K plugs, that will be 6 years the rate I go now.

So, that was my experiment. At least I have a place to go now!

Thank You. I looked at the N-Fab. Nice design and my wife actually use the step to enter the truck.

I looked at the products available for the 2013 Ford F-150. Lots of impressive options that bolt on.

Thank You. The foot room is a priority.

Good morning. Raining this morning and it will be a lazy day. Hopefully I will hear from a tree company about taking down 2 trees in the yard. Going to do a shrimp boil for dinner tonight but I cannot use a lot of spice. This should be interesting.

I found I got Havock brand but I wanted stainless steel, most others had black. I just felt I wanted that crome look for the color of the truck. Plus I like the looks of crome. I think it's an age thing. Good luck. Several manufacturers have similar. Amazon has a good selection also.

    Morning all:

:woot: Picked up the doe lic. that I need to hunt by the house, the area for the first one that I got was completely sold out and there were none available for the 2nd round, glad I grabbed that one first. There was a long line when I left, hope people who waited in line don't get told they sold out and there are no more available after standing in line for an hour or more.
Also saw something really neat this morning, A WORKING MINITURE GATTLING GUN that fires 9mm shells  !
