Does anyone know how to remove the third brake light housing on a 2001 1st gen? been looking at some vids but they are only for the newer generations and those seem to have bolts under the roof liner with easy access to them. I was going to do that on mine too but it seems that the entire roof liner needs to be remove in order to access the bolts if they are even there in the first place. It seems annoying ass hell so I thought there might be another way to remove them?

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
The housing comes off from the inside once the lens is removed.

Why do you need to remove the entire light?

The bulb is replaced form the outside once you remove the lens.

The owners manual has a section about light bulb replacement. You can find a digital copy (PDF) of any owners manual on the Toyota web site.

    Here is the relevant diagram:

    And complete light bulb spec:

Edit: It should be noted that these blub specs are for OEM housings. If, lets say, you've replaced your front turn signals with another brand (Depo, etc...) the 4157NAK bulbs may not be right (Don't ask me how I know )
