Hi. New member here. 2013 Tacoma Limited Double Cab, 4x4, 4L, auto
My shift lock solenoid wouldn't release. The 7.5A fuse checked ok, so I figured it was the brake switch. Replaced that for $20. Still didn't work. So I thought I'd check the fuses in the box under the hood. Found a nest. Removed the nest to discover some gnawed and missing wires, as well as a well-chewed relay box.
What do you think? Should I try to get it fixed by my insurance company? Is it worth pulling out the soldering iron and some shrink wrap?
    I appreciate any knowledgeable feedback.
    Thanks

That looks like a fun project, not sure if that would be something insurance would cover or not (guess it depends on your policy) but it would probably involve replacing the harness.

If your confident in soldering I'm sure it can be fixed but it probably won't be fun.
I've fixed stuff like that before, it just takes time,
Looks like you need a new connector on the brake fluid level sensor too.

    Insurance for sure.

We've had lots of vehicles go in due to rodent problems; crazy seeing a vehicle in a stall as a shell practically with the entire interior pulled out in the stall next to it.

When was the last time this truck was driven? Appears these rodents have setup shop in your engine bay for sometime. This usually doesn't happen to active vehicles.

When you get it put back together, maybe try one of these Mouse Blockers. I dont know of anybody that's used one before so I cant give you any first or second hand experience with the device so maybe someone else will chime in about it, pun intended.

Also pretty sure rodents dont like Irish Spring soap. Might not hurt to put some in bags around your engine bay OP
